ZING IS SELECTED AS A SUPERNOVA 2007 CONNECTED INNOVATOR
Mountain View, CA – June 18, 2007 - ZING Systems, Inc. today announced that it has been selected as a Supernova 2007 Connected Innovator. The Connected Innovator program, a highlight of the Supernova 2007 Conference, brings together the creators of exciting emerging technologies with the industry’s top technology and business influencers. ZING was one of 13 startups selected from a record number of applicants for its extraordinary potential to create new markets and shape the connected future. The Supernova 2007 Conference, co-produced with The Wharton School, will be held at Wharton West on June 21 and at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco on June 21-22, 2007.
ZING is paving the way for a new generation of connected mobile entertainment experiences, working in partnership with leading consumer products and content services companies. Devices with ZING are distinguished by their ability to connect, download, manage and share content directly from the player, without requiring a PC. The first devices based on the ZING Mobile Entertainment Engine include the Stiletto family of products from SIRIUS Satellite Radio and the new Sansa Connect from SanDisk. The new players with ZING are receiving widespread critical acclaim for finally un-tethering the mobile entertainment experience from the PC.
“ZING is all about connected entertainment. With WiFi and other wireless protocols becoming more pervasive, fans will be able to discover, get, share and constantly refresh their entertainment – no matter where they are, without a PC,” said ZING CEO Tim Bucher. “We are thrilled to be recognized as a Supernova Innovator.”
“These 13 innovators were selected from an impressive number of exciting ventures; it’s a promising reflection of the current state of innovation in our industry,” stated Kevin Werbach, Supernova founder and assistant professor at Wharton. “Bringing this group together with industry influencers will only help drive the development and impact of technology’s next big thing. This is what Supernova is all about.”
ZING will have five minutes to present its winning technology to a live audience at Supernova on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 3:30 p.m., with coverage to follow by Michael Arrington on the extremely popular technology Weblog, TechCrunch.com.
